• The AS621X Series of Temperature Sensors deliver the industry’s best combination of accuracy and ultra-low power consumption in a tiny wafer-level package. It is suitable for a broad range of consumer electronic devices and wearables, heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, and health-related monitoring systems. • TMD27553M Ambient Light/Proximity Photo Sensor is optimised for narrow bezel mobile phones yet offers industrial design flexibility with accurate ambient light sensing, superior proximity sensing and reduced power consumption. The unique proximity detection feature includes object recognition using photodiode detection of reflected IR energy (sourced by the integrated VCSEL). Detect and release events are interrupt driven and occur when the proximity result crosses the upper and/or lower threshold settings. The proximity engine features a wide range offset adjustment to compensate for unwanted IR energy reflection at the sensor. Moreover, the automatic ambient light subtraction with ALS and IR photodiodes features dedicated data converters which have the capacity to produce 16-bit data. The extremely narrow 1.1mm module incorporates an IR VCSEL and factory calibrated VCSEL driver.
• The AS7056 Biosignal Analogue Frontend (AFE) Sensor is the next generation of vital sign sensors enabling users to detect biosignals such as photoplethysmogram (PPG) and pulse transit time (PTT) as well as proximity measurements. The AS7056 is an analogue frontend optimised for size and performance to support space-limited applications, such as in-ear vital sign monitoring, hearables, optical sensor platform, fitness band, smart watch, smart patches and heart rate monitors. Optical blood pressure measurements and SpO2 are enabled by the two independent working photodiode inputs of the AS7056. The AS7056 also provides two LEDs and one VCSEL driver outputs and samples up to three photodiode inputs.

Available for fast delivery, the new photocoupler range includes the TLP5212 and TLP5222 devices which are suitable for a wide range of applications including inverter circuits used in industrial control equipment, power conditions in solar power systems and UPS, and residential home battery systems. The TLP5212 and TLP5222 devices include various functions including V_CE,_(sat) or V_DS,_(sat)  detection, Miller clamping and a “fault” outputting function along with a general-purpose gate driver coupler to protect the IGBT from overcurrent generated in the inverter stage. The global resistor market is demanding higher power ratings in smaller footprints to allow new designs to be optimised into smaller package sizes without compromising performance, even in the harshest environments. The new chip resistors from Panasonic offer double the power rating of conventional thick film resistors and enable design engineers to upgrade to a high value resistor with higher power in smaller case sizes, saving real-estate on the PCB.

Six products from the innovative Panasonic chip resistor series are now available for fast delivery from Farnell, including:

• ERJH* Series offers high temperature operation with derating starting from 105⁰C helping to achieve high power while downsizing. It can achieve maximum category temperature of 175⁰C and rated category temperature of 105⁰C. An improvement to solder crack resistance guarantees the resistor endures 1000 cycles of thermal shock testing. The ERJH* Series features a power derating of 0.1W - 0.5W and a case size of 0402 – 0805.
• ERA*V/K Series are high accuracy resistors with high stability achieved by thin film resistor design. Featuring a low resistance tolerance, the ERA*V/K Series offers high voltage in comparison to conventional thin film resistors. They have a higher power rating than the current product with limiting element voltage and maximum overload voltage. Key features include high reliability, stability at high temperatures and humidity, with a case size of 0402 – 0805.
• ERJP Series provides double the power rating compared to conventional thick film resistors with ESD surge characteristics similar to standard metal film resistors. Heat dissipation is increased by an optimised resistance pattern while the resistance material and electrode design enable downsizing and a high-power rating of 0.20W - 0.66W. The case size is 0402 – 1210.
• ERJPM Series is a high voltage, high precision resistor series with high power rating compared to conventional thick film resistors. Suitable for high voltages with a limiting element voltage of 500V. The ERJPM Series features a case size 1206 and resistance range of 1.02M - 10MΩ.
• ERJB/D Series features wide terminal resistors, providing high solder-joint reliability with ultra-high-power ratings compared to conventional thick film resistors. Also available as a very cost-effective shunt resistor, the ERJB/D Series is suitable for small size, high power current detection with a case size of 0508 – 1020 and power rating of 0.33W - 2W.
• ERA*A Series are high accuracy resistors with high reliability achieved by thin film resistor design. They provide high accuracy, low resistance tolerance and TCR. The high reliability design is stable at high temperature and humidity. Case size 0201 – 1206.

All products in the series which contribute to size and weight reduction of new products and are AEC-Q200 compliant (except ERA*A).
